Basket weave cake
This week cakes are basket weave & choco moist cakes for hantaran. The choco moist cake supposed to be plain but since there's still leftover buttercream so I just piped it onto the cake. The order was from my mak's friend but the irony is, I don't know the bride&groom's name. Anyway I wish all the best for them & thank you to Chek Intan for the order.

Tahniah buat Hanim&Zaidi

Diberi kesempatan untuk buat cuppies & tier cake untuk resepsi Hanim & Zaidi pada 20/11/2010 di Batu Gajah. Sama cantik sama padan pasangan pengantinnya macam jugak cuppies & tier cakes itu yang complimentary to each other. Teringat pulak komen saya pada ex-schoolmate yang mcm kebetulan bertemu jodoh antara satu sama lain walaupun diaorang mcm takde sebarang kaitan masa kat sekolah. 'Dua orang yang berbeza, berjumpa, completing each other & commiting to each other', itulah jodoh namanya. Thanks to Hanim to let me be part of her history. Semoga berbahagia Hanim & Zaidi...mendapat keberkatan rumahtangga..&...dikurniakan zuriat yang soleh...Amen..

First experienced for the first entry

I never like writing or reading blog before but this blog created purposely to share my feeling & interest towards baking. It is so amazing to find how baking cured my broken hearted so much.I do still remember my first experienced baking a cake. I was 12 & it was simple yellow butter cake recipe that my mother had passed to me. We still have that cake every year for Raya Eve. The basic rules of baking that she taught me; beat the batter in one direction, break egg one at a time & etc are still echoing to me till today. Below are the recipe from my mother as it passed to me 17 years ago.The recipe will be helpful to the beginners but to the otai they will think 'it's a piece of cake':

2 cups of butter
1 3/4 cups of sugar
3 1/2 cups of self-raising flour
4 nos eggs
1tsp vanilla essence
Full heart of ihsan (sincerity) towards the person you baking for

First, cream the butter & sugar until light. Then add the egg, one at a time. Add the vanilla essence & fold in the flour. Bake in preheated oven until golden brown. It takes about 40 mins at 150°c. Try out this simple recipe & impress your loved one just like my mother did.
